Amanda Sage
AMANDA SAGE’s art is a language in which she converses with the world, spirit, herself and the people around her. Subliminal, whispering or
screaming it is a guide & teacher as it patiently waits to be heard.
After finishing high school in Boulder, Colorado in 1996, her travels and projects bounced her between Bali, Indonesia and Vienna, Austria. She studied traditional painting and etching for one and a half years with Michael Fuchs, and has been a student and painting assistant to Ernst Fuchs since 1999. Michael taught her to “see” the world around her through the brush and the Old Master techniques in painting. Ernst has reminded her to “listen”, which has opened up other ways of ”seeing” and perceiving.
She has exhibited in Galleries, Salons and in various projects/events worldwide, including London, Vienna, Munich, Bali, Colorado and most recently at Burning Man, hanging next to renowned visionary artists such as Robert Venosa and Martina Hoffmann.
Since 2000 Amanda has been blessed with a beautiful studio in the WUK, a self-governed culture house in Vienna, as well as being involved in creating new systems of group-interaction and presentation. This has provided her with community, as well as space and time to discover her own visions, share questions and absorb information.
”My dreams are vast and grand, they are networking around the globe, to touch, share, and inspire as many creatures as possible. I would like to encourage living beings to awaken to their inherent right to be creators of their lives and the world around them.
Thus, we become aware of the necessity of community, of our connectedness, and of the fact that we globalize constructively through the appreciation of our differences and the sharing of our personal expressions.”
