My name is Mike Rennick, I am a self taught artist from south western Ontario. I was born in 1984 in my parents home. I spent most of my early years in relative soltitude helping my mother with her craftworks, and I suppose being so introverted art came rather naturally to me. Growing up in a small town, I spent a lot of time in the woods. This is probably my biggest source of inspiration. No where else do I feel more inspired or at home. In the warmer months I paint primarily with watercolor adding ink to distinguish the color variations. During the colder months I paint indoors with my flourescent acrylics and my trusty blacklight. I also do a lot of string/wood sculpture.
If you watch carefully enough you realize that everything is in constant motion and that nothing is linear. We are all a peice of work still in progress. I`m just tracing the lines that are shown to me.
