Tombalina

Tombalina is one artist, Heather Crowther, whose work concerns the concept of transformation over time from one medium to another, to reach an elevated state of consciousness. Her first introduction to this was while studying Fine Art, where she explored how natural elements (such as air or light) have a transforming effect on our everyday world.
Since becoming part of the psychedelic family in the mid 90’s she has taken this sense of transformation and applied it to her UV paintings and installation pieces. This has led to her current 3D line-drawing backdrops, where minimalist form is changed and manipulated through the application of light, reflecting the true essence of the natural world around us. These works reflect Sacred Geometric elements of our ‘taken-for-granted yet rarely understood’ universe that is all permeating. Through the use of simple line and colour combinations, each piece has a completely different look and feel, depending on whether seen under daylight, UV light, or in complete darkness.
Her backdrops and installation pieces transform any party into a 3D sensual environment creating an explosion of colour and sensory perception, and she has decorated many parties and festivals in the UK, Denmark, Czech Republic and soon to be Portugal.
