UV paintings have a way of jumping off the canvas and dancing for you before your eyes, adding to the electric vibe of the venue that the beat has already started to create.
In late 1999 I decided to start some UV paintings for a private party being organised with some friends and I have been captivated by the medium ever since. I was fascinated by the way that the paintings seemed to come alive once the lights went out and they were caught by black light. This fascination soon developed and I have been experimenting and producing backdrops and UV paintings on and off ever since. It is something that keeps on intriguing me and keeping me captivated, somehow I have a feeling it will for a long time yet.
The themes usually depicted in UV paintings are of dream worlds, visions that take you off to another place. These themes have always been a subject matter that I have been fond of and something that has always been part of my artwork since I first picked up a paint brush.
Working closely with club promoters and organisers I have been striving to produce top quality backdrops, maintaining all health and safety regulations by ensuring that all back drops are fire proof and treated with Flamebar S3 flame retardant compound. Producing exactly what the client wants is top of my list and making sure that through setting a mood with my images and with the beat of the music that the audience is taken off to another place…..
