Divine Reflections

When I bought my Nikon 950 three years ago I had no idea how much of an influence it would have on my life; I'd never had an artistic outlet before. In the span of two years I took close to 10,000 photos, something I would never have been able to do if I hadn't been working entirely in the digital domain. Learning on the digital with no background in photography also helped me to break some conventional rules. Because of this, my style of shooting is partly based around features only available in digital. The lcd screen provides instant feedback that allows me to discover shots I wouldn't otherwise be able to shoot without a return trip to the same locale. The 16 shot sequence designed for short animations has also become one of my favorite effects. Check out the portraits section for examples.

I've since acquired a Nikon 4500, and a taste for anything lit up. One of my friends aptly calls me a 'Digital Magpie.' If it's shinny, I'll shoot it. Beyond the long exposure shots I enjoy doing close macro and 16 shot portraits. Feel free to take a look through my portfolio, and please let me know what you think. All of the photos here are original and unmodified with the exception of the watermark added to every photo and the montages which were made with Photomontage2000.

I'm hoping to get into photoshop in the next while, but I plan to use it to collage pieces of existing shots rather than create psychedelic masterpieces like my friend Dr. J. I can be reached by e-mail at st.even@tribalharmonix.org. One final plug :: Photography is how I make most of my living, and information on pricing and ordering is on the info page; click the big ol' ? in the top right corner. I also teach lucid dreaming workshops, write a little custom code (this website was programmed by me), and I'm thinking about going back to school.
