About PsyGarden

PsyGarden is an online publication about psychedelic art and festival visual culture. It documents the crafts that build the look of psychedelic music events - painted UV backdrops, string and fabric installations, visionary painting and live visuals - and the techniques, materials and history behind them.

What the site covers

The material is organised into four collections. Backdrops explains fluorescent textile painting. 3D Constructions covers string art and suspended geometry. Paintings follows the visionary canvas tradition. Visuals & Digital Art documents projection and VJ culture. Each section is written for a general reader: no scene background is assumed, and technical terms are explained where they appear.

Editorial approach

The site treats festival decor as applied art worth taking seriously. Articles focus on verifiable craft and history - who developed a technique, how a material behaves, why a form recurs - rather than scene gossip or event promotion. Where a factual claim has a public source, the text names it. The site covers visual culture only; it does not offer guidance on any substance, and it has no commercial relationship with the events or artists it describes.

Corrections

Errors happen, especially in a field with thin written records. Readers who spot a mistake - a misdated movement, a misattributed technique, a wrong material - are invited to say so via the contact page. Corrections are checked and applied to the article directly.
